But it's the fragrance that made this rose famous. The first breath is bright and fruity — lemon and fresh apple, like rain on a summer orchard. Fair warning: she grows slowly. All her energy goes into those enormous, long-lasting flowers. But she handles heat beautifully, blooming her heart out when fussier roses give up. Worth every bit of patience.

The huge white blooms can droop on slender stems, so give her a little support and she'll reward you with one of the most complex fragrances in the rose world.

The Honest Truth About Growing Roses from Seed
