White Delight is a creeping phlox (Phlox subulata) that forms a low, mat-like carpet of needle-like evergreen foliage. In mid to late spring it is blanketed in masses of large, pure white flowers for about 3–4 weeks. It suits rock gardens, slopes, border fronts, and containers. Seed-grown plants may vary slightly from the named parent.

Why choose our seeds?

  • Masses of large, pure white blooms in mid to late spring
  • Low, mat-forming habit, only 4–6 inches tall
  • Evergreen, moss-like foliage gives year-round groundcover interest

How to grow White Delight Creeping Phlox seeds

Choose Your Planting Method

  • Indoors: Start seeds 6–8 weeks before the last frost.
  • Outdoors: Sow in spring after the danger of frost has passed.

Prepare Your Materials

  • Seed-starting trays or pots (if indoors)
  • Well-draining potting mix
  • Spray bottle for misting

Sowing the Seeds

  • Sow on the surface or barely cover; the seeds need light to germinate.

Provide the Right Conditions

  • Light: Full sun (tolerates light shade).
  • Temperature: About 65–75°F (18–24°C).

Germination

  • Germination often takes 10–20 days.
  • Keep the surface evenly moist but not soggy until seedlings appear.

Transplanting

  • Move outdoors after the last frost when seedlings are sturdy.
  • Harden off indoor-grown plants before planting out.
  • Space plants 12–15 inches apart.

Care Tips

  • Sun: Full sun.
  • Water: Water regularly until established; plants tolerate dry spells once established.
  • Soil: Sandy or gritty, well-drained soil; good drainage is essential.
  • Shear plants back by about half after flowering to keep a dense, tidy mat.

Bloom Time:

Mid to late spring (April–May).
