Voyage is a series of lisianthus (Eustoma grandiflorum), also called Texas bluebell or prairie gentian, with rose-like double blooms in a mix of colors on strong stems. This is the florist-favorite cut flower, now growable at home, with flowers that last exceptionally long in the vase. Plants bloom in summer in beds and borders.

Why choose our seeds?

  • Rose-like double blooms in a mixed color range
  • Outstanding, long-lasting cut flowers
  • Elegant cottage-border plant

How to grow Voyage Mix Eustoma Lisianthus seeds

Choose Your Planting Method

  • Indoors: Start indoors 10-12 weeks before the last frost; lisianthus is slow-growing.
  • Outdoors: Plant out after the last frost in a sheltered, sunny spot.

Prepare Your Materials

  • Seed-starting trays or pots (if indoors)
  • Well-draining seed-starting mix
  • Spray bottle for misting

Sowing the Seeds

  • Surface sow on moist seed compost; do not cover, as the tiny seeds need light to germinate.
  • A heated propagator gives the best results; keep the mix evenly moist but never waterlogged.

Provide the Right Conditions

  • Light: Needed for germination; give bright light.
  • Temperature: 68-77°F (20-25°C).

Germination

  • Germination takes 10-21 days.
  • Seedlings are slow; wait until they have 4 true leaves and feel sturdy before potting on.

Transplanting

  • Pot on into individual pots at 4 true leaves; plant out after frost about 8 inches (20 cm) apart.
  • Handle seedlings gently; the roots resent disturbance. Harden off before planting out.

Care Tips

  • Sun: Full sun; give afternoon shade in very hot climates.
  • Water: Keep evenly moist; avoid wet, boggy soil, which causes rot.
  • Fertilizer: Light feeding during growth; rich, moist but well-drained soil suits them best.
  • Support with twiggy sticks to keep stems straight for cutting.

Bloom Time:

Summer; sow early, as plants are slow to mature.
