Prism Sunshine is a grandiflora petunia with large, creamy-yellow trumpet blooms about 3–4 inches across that hold their color without fading in sun and heat. Compact, uniform plants grow 12–14 inches tall and suit beds, borders, and containers. This variety earned the 1998 All-America Selections award and the Fleuroselect Gold Medal.

Why choose our seeds?

  • Large creamy-yellow blooms that do not fade or brown in sun
  • Award-winning variety: 1998 All-America Selections and Fleuroselect Gold Medal
  • Compact, uniform 12–14 inch habit for beds and containers

How to grow Prism Sunshine Petunia seeds

Choose Your Planting Method

  • Indoors: Start seeds 8–10 weeks before the last frost.
  • Outdoors: Sow after all danger of frost has passed.

Prepare Your Materials

  • Seed-starting trays or pots (if indoors)
  • Fine, well-draining seed-starting mix
  • Humidity dome or plastic wrap
  • Spray bottle for misting

Sowing the Seeds

  • Surface sow and do not cover; the tiny seeds need light to germinate.

Provide the Right Conditions

  • Light: Bright light for germination, then full sun for growing plants.
  • Temperature: About 70–75°F (21–24°C).
  • Humidity: A dome or plastic cover helps keep the surface evenly moist.

Germination

  • Seedlings usually emerge in 7–10 days.
  • Remove the cover once seedlings appear and grow on in bright light.

Transplanting

  • Plant out after the last frost when seedlings have several true leaves.
  • Harden off indoor-grown plants before planting out.
  • Space plants 12–15 inches apart.

Care Tips

  • Sun: Full sun.
  • Water: Keep evenly moist but not waterlogged.
  • Fertilizer: Feed regularly through the growing season for the heaviest bloom.
  • Remove faded flowers to encourage more blooms.

Bloom Time:

Spring to frost (May–October).
