Pink Ice is a pink-flowered candytuft (Iberis) that forms low, mounding plants covered in dense clusters of small pink blooms. It makes a neat edging for paths and borders, and suits rock gardens and containers.

Why choose our seeds?

  • Dense clusters of small pink blooms on low, mounding plants
  • Neat edging for paths and borders; good in rock gardens and containers
  • Cool-season flower that blooms in spring to early summer

How to grow Pink Ice Candytuft seeds

Choose Your Planting Method

  • Indoors: Start seeds indoors 6–8 weeks before the last frost.
  • Outdoors: Direct sow outdoors in early spring as soon as the soil can be worked, or in fall in mild-winter areas.

Prepare Your Materials

  • Seed-starting trays or pots (if indoors)
  • Well-draining potting mix
  • Spray bottle for misting

Sowing the Seeds

  • Sow 1/8 inch (3 mm) deep and press in lightly — barely covered, as the seeds germinate best with some light.

Provide the Right Conditions

  • Light: Full sun; seedlings need strong light to grow stocky.
  • Temperature: Around 65–70°F (18–21°C).

Germination

  • Seedlings usually appear in 14–21 days.
  • Grow on in bright light until sturdy enough to plant out.

Transplanting

  • Plant out after the last frost.
  • Harden off indoor-started plants for a week before planting out.
  • Spacing: Space or thin plants to 8–12 inches (20–30 cm) apart.

Care Tips

  • Sun: Full sun to partial shade; dislikes damp, shady spots.
  • Water: Average water needs; avoid soggy soil.
  • Fertilizer: Not a heavy feeder; a light feeding is enough if growth is weak.
  • Deadheading spent flowers encourages a longer bloom period; trim back by about a third after blooming to prevent legginess.

Bloom Time:

Blooms in spring to early summer, about 60–70 days from sowing.
