Paco Bell is a daylily (Hemerocallis hybrid) selection sold as seed, producing clumps of arching, strap-like foliage topped with large, trumpet-shaped blooms in summer. Daylilies are rugged, long-lived plants for sunny borders. Note that seedlings grown from hybrid seed vary and will not all match the named parent.
Why choose our seeds?
- Large, trumpet-shaped summer blooms
- Arching foliage forms attractive clumps
- Tough, long-lived plants for sunny borders
How to grow Paco Bell Daylily seeds
Choose Your Planting Method
- Indoors: Start indoors 4-6 weeks before the last frost.
- Outdoors: Sow outdoors in spring after frost danger has passed.
Prepare Your Materials
- Seed-starting trays or pots (if indoors)
- Well-draining seed-starting mix
- Spray bottle for misting
Sowing the Seeds
- Sow about 1/4 inch deep in moist seed-starting mix.
- Keep the mix evenly moist throughout germination.
Provide the Right Conditions
- Light: Bright light after emergence; seeds themselves do not need light to sprout.
- Temperature: 65-70°F (18-21°C).
Germination
- Germination typically takes 2-4 weeks; some seeds take longer.
- Be patient and keep the mix from drying out.
Transplanting
- Plant out after the last frost, spacing plants 12-18 inches apart.
- Harden off seedlings gradually before transplanting.
Care Tips
- Sun: Full sun to light shade.
- Water: Water regularly until established; thereafter average water is enough.
- Fertilizer: A light feeding of balanced fertilizer in spring is usually sufficient.
Bloom Time:
Summer, on established plants.
