Multi-color Mix Flower Rose brings a surprise of rose blooms in a range of colors, all grown from seed. Rose seeds need a period of cold to break dormancy, so germination takes patience — but watching your own roses grow from tiny seeds is worth the wait.
Why choose our seeds?
- A mix of bloom colors from a single packet — every seedling is a surprise
- Grow genuine roses from seed, including for cutting and borders
- Detailed cold-stratification steps included to break seed dormancy
How to grow Multi -color Mix Flower Rose seeds
Choose Your Planting Method
- Indoors: Stratify first: place seeds in damp peat moss or a damp paper towel inside a sealed bag in the refrigerator for 8-12 weeks, then sow 6-8 weeks before the last frost.
- Outdoors: Sow stratified seeds directly after the last frost, once soil can be worked.
Prepare Your Materials
- Seed-starting trays or pots (if indoors)
- Well-draining potting mix
- Peat moss or paper towels and a sealed bag for cold stratification
- Clear plastic wrap or a humidity dome
- Spray bottle for misting
Sowing the Seeds
- Nick or lightly rub the hard seed coat with sandpaper, then cold-stratify as above before sowing
- Sow stratified seeds about 1/4 inch deep in moist seed-starting mix
Provide the Right Conditions
- Light: Bright, indirect light after sowing
- Temperature: Around 70-75°F (21-24°C) after stratification
- Humidity: Cover with plastic wrap or a dome until seedlings emerge
Germination
- After stratification, germination can take several weeks to a few months — be patient and keep the medium evenly moist
- Remove the cover once sprouts appear and give seedlings bright light
Transplanting
- Transplant when seedlings have several sets of true leaves and all frost danger has passed
- Harden off over 7-10 days before moving outdoors
- Space plants 18-24 inches apart in their final positions
Care Tips
- Sun: Full sun (at least 6 hours daily) for the strongest blooms
- Water: Water deeply and regularly; avoid wetting the foliage
- Fertilizer: Feed established plants with a balanced rose fertilizer during the growing season
- Prune established plants in late winter or early spring to shape them
Bloom Time:
Seed-grown roses generally begin blooming in their second growing season; once mature, they flower through summer.
