Mexican Sour Gherkin (Melothria scabra), also called cucamelon, is a heat-loving annual vine grown for its grape-sized fruits that look like tiny watermelons and taste like cucumber with a hint of citrus. The vigorous vines climb 8–10 feet and produce until frost. Excellent fresh as a snack, in salads, or pickled.
