Jazzy Mix is a Zinnia haageana (narrow-leaf zinnia) blend in shades of red and maroon, with a neat, branching habit and long, sturdy stems that are excellent for cutting. Plants bloom over a long season and hold up well in summer heat, making them a reliable choice for beds, borders, and cutting gardens.

Why choose our seeds?

  • Warm red and maroon shades in a long-blooming mix
  • Long, sturdy stems — very good for cut-flower arrangements
  • Compact, branching plants that flower freely in heat

How to grow Jazzy Mix Zinnia seeds

Choose Your Planting Method

  • Indoors: Start indoors 3–4 weeks before the last frost if you want earlier blooms.
  • Outdoors: Direct-sow after the last frost, once the soil is warm — zinnias resent cold soil.

Prepare Your Materials

  • Seed-starting trays or pots (if indoors)
  • Well-draining potting mix
  • Spray bottle for misting

Sowing the Seeds

  • Sow about 1/8 inch (3 mm) deep and cover lightly.
  • Keep the soil evenly moist until seedlings emerge.

Provide the Right Conditions

  • Light: Full sun.
  • Temperature: Warm soil, ideally 70–75°F (21–24°C), for fast germination.
  • Humidity: Evenly moist soil; avoid overhead watering once plants are growing.

Germination

  • Seedlings usually emerge in 7–14 days.
  • Thin early so plants have good air circulation.

Transplanting

  • Set out after all frost danger has passed; handle roots gently.
  • Space plants 10–12 inches (25–30 cm) apart.

Care Tips

  • Sun: Full sun.
  • Water: Water at the base; keep foliage dry to discourage mildew.
  • Fertilizer: Light feeding is enough in average soil.
  • Cut or deadhead often — regular picking keeps new blooms coming.

Bloom Time:

June to September; plants flower continuously until frost when deadheaded.
