Fiesta Mix Calendula is a lively blend of pot marigold blooms in shades of orange, gold and cream on compact, bushy plants. This cool-season annual is easy to grow and flowers for months in mild weather.

Why choose our seeds?

  • A mix of orange, gold and cream blooms for colorful beds and borders
  • Cool-season annual that flowers heavily in spring and again in cool fall weather
  • Large, easy-to-handle seeds; a friendly first flower from seed for new gardeners

How to grow Fiesta Mix Calendula seeds

Choose Your Planting Method

  • Indoors: Start indoors 4-6 weeks before the last frost.
  • Outdoors: Direct sow in early spring as soon as the soil can be worked, or in late summer for fall bloom.

Prepare Your Materials

  • Seed-starting trays or pots (if indoors)
  • Well-draining potting mix
  • Humidity dome or plastic wrap to hold moisture
  • Spray bottle for misting

Sowing the Seeds

  • Sow seeds 1/4 inch deep and cover with soil, as the seeds need darkness to germinate.
  • No special seed treatment is needed.

Provide the Right Conditions

  • Light: bright light for seedlings
  • Temperature: soil temperature near 70°F (21°C) until germination

Germination

  • Seeds sprout in about 6-14 days under warm, dark conditions.
  • Move sprouted seedlings to a bright spot so they stay compact.

Transplanting

  • Set plants out once they have several true leaves and the soil can be worked.
  • Thin or space plants 8-12 inches apart.

Care Tips

  • Sun: full sun for the best bloom production.
  • Water: give about 1 to 1-1/2 inches of water per week; avoid overwatering.
  • Deadhead spent flowers regularly to encourage continuous bloom and prevent heavy self-seeding.
  • Pinch back young plants to encourage bushier growth.

Bloom Time:

Spring through early summer; blooming can pause in intense mid-summer heat and resume when nights cool.
