How to grow Crazy Daisy seeds
Choose Your Planting Method
- Indoors: Sow indoors in late winter to early spring.
- Outdoors: Sow in spring after the last frost, or in late summer.
Prepare Your Materials
- Seed-starting trays or pots (if indoors)
- Moist, well-drained seed-starting mix
- Plastic wrap or humidity dome (until germination)
- Spray bottle for misting
Sowing the Seeds
- Sow onto moist mix, just covering the seed with a little soil or vermiculite — light is needed for germination.
- If germination does not occur, chill the tray at about 39°F (4°C) for 2–4 weeks, then return it to warmth.
Provide the Right Conditions
- Light: Light is needed for germination; grow on in bright light.
- Temperature: 55–60°F (13–16°C) is ideal for germination.
- Humidity: Keep the mix evenly moist.
Germination
- Can take 3–4 weeks; be patient.
- Transplant seedlings into small pots when large enough to handle.
Transplanting
- Harden off, then plant out after all danger of frost has passed.
- Space 12–18 inches apart in well-drained soil.
Care Tips
- Sun: Full sun.
- Water: Water regularly during the growing season; avoid soggy winter soil.
- Fertilizer: Generally not heavy feeders.
- Deadhead or cut flowers regularly to extend the blooming period.
Bloom Time:
Early summer to late summer; deadhead to extend the display.
