  • Watering: Mist to keep the medium moist; do not waterlog
  • Growth Habit: Microgreen stage, 1-2 inches tall
  • Soil Type: Fine seed-starting mix or coco coir in a shallow tray
  • Planting Time: Year-round indoors
  • Days to Maturity: 10-12 days from sowing

Growing Instructions

  • When to Plant: Any time of year indoors.
  • Soil: Fill a shallow tray with drainage holes with moist, fine seed-starting mix or coco coir.
  • Sunlight: Keep trays covered and dark during germination, then move to bright indirect light or a grow light once sprouted.
  • Watering: Mist gently to keep the surface moist; bottom-water once roots develop. Avoid overwatering.
  • Spacing: Sow seeds dry and evenly over the surface, fairly dense but not piled; do not soak the seeds first.
  • Germination: Cover the tray for 3-4 days in warm conditions at 65-75°F (18-24°C). Remove the cover once seedlings emerge.
  • Harvest: Cut with clean scissors just above the growing medium when the cotyledons are fully developed, usually 10-12 days after sowing.
  • Tips: Keep good airflow around trays to prevent mold, and water from the side of the tray so the weight of water does not flatten the delicate seedlings.
