How to grow Ageratum seeds:
1. Start Indoors (Optional, for Early Blooms)
- Start seeds 6–8 weeks before the last frost date if you want early blooms.
- Use seed trays or small pots with light, well-draining potting mix.
2. Lightly Cover the Seeds
- Gently press seeds into the soil but do not bury deeply — they need light to germinate.
- Cover lightly with a thin layer of vermiculite or just press them in.
3. Keep Moist & Warm
- Mist the soil to keep it evenly moist but not soggy.
- Ideal germination temperature: 70–75°F (21–24°C).
- Germination takes 5–10 days.
4. Transplant Outdoors
- When seedlings have 2–3 sets of true leaves and all danger of frost has passed, transplant them outside.
- Space plants about 6–8 inches (15–20 cm) apart.
5. Sunlight
- Full sun to partial shade — more sun gives more compact and vibrant blooms.
6. Watering
- Moderate watering — let the top inch of soil dry before watering again.
- Avoid overwatering to prevent root rot.
7. Maintenance
- No deadheading needed; blooms keep coming!
- Add light fertilizer every 3–4 weeks for continuous blooms.
